Leila Adopted February 2011
Dear RMLR,
I was just thinking about you guys. Yes, Leila had her surgery today and she had to stay overnight also. We miss her tonight! But we've called to check on her and, apparently, all went well and she's doing well, just starting to come around a bit and groggy, but the surgery was a success. The vet said (Dr. Brod?) that, once they got in there, not only did they have to repair the ACL and the patellar tendon, there was a 3rd injury to the meniscus and so they repaired that as well.
Can I just say that, if I DO win the lottery, I'm keeping RMLR in mind for a HUGE donation!! I wish I could give you guys millions for the wonderful work you do, so thank you very, very much!! Thanks for paying for all of this expensive surgery.
So far, in the brief time we've gotten to know her, I can say that Leila is a wonderful, amazingly sweet girl and we love her dearly! And we kept her name. Just the perfect addition to our family (as my husband said). She is new-best-buds with our dog Lucy, they play constantly (unless she was tugging too hard and stressing her knee, we had to keep an eye on that), so it's very sweet that they each have a playmate. Eddie (our older, giant male dog) keeps his distance but is "concerned" when she's gone and seems very protective of her (as he is with the rest of us). And she got used to the kitty cats very quickly! I think she's just entertained or curious about them, follows them around the house just watching them. And she's great with kids.
Now we have 8-12 weeks of recovery ahead of us/her, but I'm happy to get on that road and get her leg healthy. Looking forward to taking her swimming at our local lake this summer once she's healed!

Abby (formerly Opal) Adopted October 2010
 Hello,
My name is Haily Rubert, my boyfriend Chris and I adopted Opal ( now Abby) from RMLR in October. I just wanted to drop a note and tell you how happy we are that your organization exists. Not only were we able to give our precious addition a home but she has brought us tons of love and fun as well. We are excited to attend your 5k in May and plan to support and spread the word of your great foundation further. Thanks again so much for matching us with our great addition, life would not be the same without her!!
Thank you,
Haily Rubert and Chris Reardon

Lita Adopted November 2010
We LOVE our Lita girl! She is so tolerant just like our other lab Buddy. They are best friends and I don't think they can be more than a couple feet from each other at any given moment as the picture shows :) Here are just a couple pictures of Lita (and yes...that is Buddy's back leg drapped over Lita...she just doesnt seem to mind!). Caroline Adopted March 13, 2011
 RMLR,
We just wanted to thank everyone at your wonderful rescue for helping us with Caroline. She has settled into our home very nicely, and is sweeter than we ever could have imagined. We are learning new things about her everyday. She went to the vet Monday morning and she did very well. We have been on several walks in the open space areas by our house and she does so good on her leash, except the rabbit's do interest her a little. We really wanted to thank Paula (Carolines foster) for answering so many questions for us and being very patient with our family. Thanks again for everyone's help and we hope to see some of you at the adoption function this weekend.
Thank You,
The Herting Family

Holly Adopted Oct 10, 2010
After losing our wonderful yellow lab, Jasmine, to cancer we found RMLR. After we were approved, we chose to foster to adopt Holly, a 2 year old black lab, and she came home on 10/10/10.
When she came to us, she was house trained and she knew how to sit. She never barked and didn't wag her tail much at all. She bonded to us quickly and we knew we were going to keep her before the first 24 hours were up. It took Zina, our 8 year old black lab mix, a little longer to accept Holly. She wasn't used to having a younger, livelier, and bigger dog to play with. She made the adjustment and now they are now good companions.
Holly is a very loving dog and fits into our family beautifully. She is great with our young grandchildren and has learned to come, stay and walk on a leash. She is still learning lie down. She now barks and wags her tail frequently and acts like a normal, happy dog. We are so glad that she has joined our family.

Annabelle Adopted March 1, 2011
Hello!
I just wanted to send you guys a little thank you note and let you know how well Annabelle is doing. We changed her name to Jinx. She is hilarious. She likes to hold her leash on walks, and LOVES daycamp. she goes every Monday and Wednesday while i am at school. we also take her to the dog park a lot, and she loves that too! she loves sleeping in her crate, she never wakes me up, she is ready to get up when i am. she likes to sleep in with mom, haha! last night out of nowhere she started barking at her own reflection in our fireplace. we start a beginning training class in a week or two, i am so excited! she fits into our family perfectly. except when she and i fall asleep on the bed (we have always allowed our dogs on our furniture), and she turns into a sack of potatoes, so my husband has to carry her and lay her in her crate. but... a long day of daycamp with your puppies pal is rough, hah! i can't thank you enough for accepting us as adopters even though we live in an apartment. a lot of rescue places will completely dismiss you based on that alone. she probably gets more exercize because we don't have a yard, and so do we!
again, thank you!
