Tim (formerly known as Andrew)

Rescued June 2, 2011 - Adopted June 10, 2011

Update Received: July 5, 2011

Dear RMLR,

My new mom left her e-mail up so I thought I would take advantage and send you a quick note (and some pictures because I'm sooo cute! At least that's what they keep telling me).

My new sister is really great. She takes me out to eat all the time. Funny thing is, she never gets me anything! She does give me treats and water but man, her burrito sure smelled good at Chipotle! I do like the treats she brings with us and we have a great time with all her friends.

My new brother is really cool. He lets me jump all over him and attack his hair. He takes care of me during the day. My mom says he's lucky because the daytime is my sleep time. I don't know why that makes him lucky?

I have another new brother but I don't think we look alike and he really doesn't like me. He hisses at me a lot but I keep trying (my mom says I'm tenacious but I don't know what that means). I think he is beginning to like me a little because he doesn't try to hit me with him paw anymore! His name is Toes and mom got a picture of us relaxing on the bed together.

I've learned how to go down the stairs now! I really like hanging out on the back deck and chasing my tennis ball in the backyard. But, if they close the back door while I'm hanging out, that's not cool and I've told them so they all leave the door open for me now.

I really like playing with my toys and eating a bone on my bed. They don't even get mad at me when I eat in bed! I think my favorite toy is my hoof. I like to pick it up and drop it all over the hardwood floor because it makes a lot of noise. The tug-a-jug frustrates me and I growl at it because I can only get one treat out at a time. I don't really know why my new family likes it but they say it "occupies" me for a long time.

Well, I have to run now. I don't think mom would be mad at me for using her computer but it's supper time and I'm hungry. Leanne, will you tell Gordon hi for me?  I miss him! I saw on the website that he has a new friend to pay with now; that's cool! Thanks for letting me hang out with you for awhile too but my new family says thanks for letting me go because they REALLY love me! Does anyone know what a maniac is? That's what my family calls me. Hmm, I don't suppose it really matters.

Talk to you later RMLR!

Tim (AKA - Timothy Andrew Brown - Son of Brian & Sarah Brown)

Sage

Originally Rescued in 2009 - Adopted in 2009
Returned to RMLR February 25, 2011 - Adopted May 8, 2011

Update Received: July 12, 2011

Sage was originally rescued and adopted out by RMLR in 2009. Unfortunately this match didn't work out in the long run and Sage was returned to RMLR. After being returned Sage underwent a month or so of behavioral training with the wonderful folks at PetCamp. Sage's foster in 2011 couldn't quite figure out why poor Sage had been returned because she was really a wonderful dog. When Steve and Mary came by to meet Sage they fell in love immediately and snatched her right up! Now this dog that was once labelled as "aggressive to other dogs" is a wonderful foster sister to Griff.

Sage is not the only RMLR Rescue Dog that has become a wonderful foster sister/brother to other rescues. Find out how your dog can help Rescue Dogs during their transistion from shelter to Forever Home by visiting our becoming a foster page.

Hannah (formerly Bug)

Rescued in 2009 - Adopted in 2009

Update received: July 16, 2011

In 2009, I addopted "Bug", who's name is now Hannah. Wen I got herhome, she hit it off instantly with the horses, but son learned thatif she tried to run with the, it would result in a Vet's office visit to fix a toe! She was so timid for aboutthefirst two months but after that,  she began to warm up nicly to our country lifestyle. Hannah is an awesome dog, and she is a girl's best friend, best hunting buddy, and a great distraction at horse shows!

Zeak (formerly Alvin)

Rescued June 2, 2011 - Adopted June 8, 2011

Update received July 16, 2011

I cannot believe it has only been a month since I moved in with my new family.  I of course am the ruler of the house and the “fun coordinator”.  I have no idea what they did before I moved in.  My new family tells me all the time how lucky they are to have me and I agree completely.  I love to go for walks and chew on everything.   I am trying to learn to be a constructive chewer which means only chewing on designated objects (toys, rawhides, bones) and not on my brother.  We go to the mountains a lot and play in the snow that is left.  My family tells me in the winter there will be more snow than I know what to do with.  I cannot wait.  I much prefer cold weather to the heat and snow is so fun to play in.  I am learning to retrieve and I also learned to swim on one of our recent trips.  The water was super cold but I am willing to do it again as long as my brother and sisters comes too.  I love my new family and I am glad I make their lives complete.  Thanks to Leanne and RMLR for bringing us together.

My dad calls me his baby boy he never had. He loves to cuddle with me and I love to give him lots of kisses.

As you can see Mom likes me too.
