Our Current Doggie Poop Sheets - The Following Dogs Are Available For Adoption
|
Note: If you are interested in adopting a lab you must first submit an Adoption Application to Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue.
The process of reviewing applications may take two or three days. A phone interview and home visit must also take place
before an adoption is completed. If you have specific questions about a particular dog, please submit your application for
adoption and we will be happy to discuss which dog(s) you are interested in then. We can not guarantee that the dog that
you are interested in will still be available after your application has been reviewed and processed.

Fine with older children. She has a lot of energy and can get a little excited for the little ones.
|
| Leash: |
She loves going for walks and is learning not to pull with her gentle leader/halite. We are working on proper socialization skills with Darla too.
|
| Personality: |
Darla is a very loving girl, with a lot of energy. She would be a great addition to a family as an only pet, but with a family that has time to work on her training and confidence. She has some anxiety around other dogs, so she also needs work on socialization. But she is very willing to learn. She is a beautiful soft coat black lab mix. She does great with daily exercise. She still has a lot of puppy energy for a 2 yr old!! She loves her daily walks but she is not a dog I would have on a extended leash. I am trying to work with her keeping by my side during our walk/runs. We are using a Haltie and it seems to help with her pulling, but she will lunge at other dogs because she thinks everyone should play with her on the trail!! She know some basic commands and would do wonderful with some formal obedience training. She does go into a crate with some help but usually doesn’t complain after she’s in there, she has done better sleeping on the floor by my son’s bed. She would make a great pet for anyone with time to work with her. She loves her belly rubbed and I think she would love playing fetch, but our Choc Lab has a ball obsession so Darla rarely gets to the ball before he does. She is a great girl that just wants to feel secure with her surroundings to help build up her confidence and enjoy all that Colorado has to offer a young lab!!! |

Hi I'm Cassie, If you're looking for a sweet goofy ball of love and fun then I'm your girl. I crack my foster mom up with my antics going after the ball. Even though I'm not huge she thinks there may be some great Dane in my family tree because of my unusual head and feet. I know some of my basic commands and am learning to like my kennel too. I am house trained and quiet in the house and yard. I love my foster brothers and sister and we wrestle, play chase, ball and chew the furry squishy toys here. They say I'm 2 but I still act like a puppy. I would love to be in a forever home that likes water and lots of activities and maybe another dog to play with. I don't know if I like cats. I need more leash training but do really well with treats. I promise to be the bestest friend you could have....Sincerely Cassie
Although estimated to be about two years old, Cassie is still very much a puppy. Unable to deny her Labrador genes, Cassie is huge fan of water, enjoys a good game of fetch and loves to cuddle. She has been working on her basic commands at her foster home and currently responds to "sit" and "go to bed." Already house trained, Cassie models one of the biggest benefits to adopting an older puppy. She is very sweet and gentle when taking treats which is wonderful motivation as she continues her training. This happy, confident, smart young girl is looking forward to finding her family to spend forever with!

Hi, there! I’m Archie! Yes, it’s true that I suffered a life of neglect in the past, but thankfully, Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue has stepped in, and is preparing me for a well deserved life of happiness in the future! I was found wandering as a stray, and was extremely skinny and had cuts and scrapes that are now rapidly healing as I receive TLC from my foster home. You see, I had one more obstacle that made my life as a wanderer even more challenging- I can’t see! Yep! That’s right. I’m blind! RMLR took me to see a doggy ophthalmologist (eye doctor), but unfortunately, my blindness is not correctable as I have retinal disease. But don’t you worry- I don’t let that slow me down one bit! I’m a lab, after all, and we labs have “can do!” attitudes! I still go jogging with my foster mom, and it’s incredible to watch me compensate for my lack of sight by using my other senses. My ability to make my way in this world would be so much easier if I had a forever home and family where I could be familiar with my surroundings, and have people I trusted to guide me a bit. I’ll need a home where my people have lots of time to keep me safe while I become acquainted with my new home (for example, stairs could be a danger if I’m not watched and/or properly acquainted with them). With just a bit of extra time, patience, and love, I can still do all the active, fun stuff any lab could do (including stairs, as long as my family is sure I know where they are!), and I just might develop an even closer bond to my people! So if you think you have an extra special place in your home and your heart, please come visit me- I’m sure I’ll win ya over!

Shadow (10 years) Black Lab Mix F

Hi, my name is Shadow and I am 10 years old. I am a female black lab mix. I have lived my whole life since 4 months of age in a tiny outdoor kennel with very little attention. I was fed and that was about it. I have had a urine leakage problem and no one ever helped me. I have sat in my own urine my whole life too. I am pretty hollow inside and you can see it in my eyes. Luckily, I was pulled from this horrible place. I have been staying at a doggie daycare in Vail. I love all my hikes and the people. It is just a bit too much for me with all the traffic in and out of the facility. I am older and just want some one on one time with my person. I love to hike, go in the car, get treats, and go on walks. I love to run around in the yard. This is my very favorite thing to do. I do like other dogs. I like my pack to be small. I am learning how to share toys. I never had any so this is new to me. I would LOVE a chance to be loved and to fill the emptiness in my heart. Please give me a chance by fostering or adopting me. The vet is working with me on leaking and it should not be a problem soon.

Angel (7 months) Chocolate Lab/Heeler Mix

Angel was found in a remote area of Northern New Mexico. We think she is Chocolate Lab/Heeler mix and is about 7 months old. She's now been spayed, has had all vaccinations, and is crate trained. Angel is a very smart, loyal and loving girl and I'm hoping to find a home for her with other dogs.

Polo Yellow Lab M

Polo is a prize! He is a loving, super handsome, healthy Golden- hearted Labrador Retriever. Those who have had the good fortune to live with a Lab know they are wonderful dogs: loyal, affectionate, patient, and fun loving. They are also energetic, highly intelligent, and good-natured. GRFR Polo is Lab through and through! As his foster mom says, "Polo is a sweet, goofy, clumsy, charming and exuberant teenager!" Polo is a happy go lucky tail wagging boy. He loves to be with his people and always has a smile on his face. Polo loves other dogs and loves to play, and play, and play!! Polo weighs 90 pounds. He is strong, athletic and a bundle of energy. So, GRFR will be sure that Polo chooses a forever home without children under twelve years old, small dogs or kitty cats. "Well done, Polo!" GRFR also will be sure that Polo choses a family who commits to going to doggy school with him. Polo will brush up on the basics and learn more. You and Polo will build your trust and deepen your bond with each other too. "A well-trained Retriever is a happy Retriever with a happy family too!"
Mr. Polo is a typical two year old Retriever -- and that means daily exercise is key to his and his humans' mental and physical well being. He walks well on leash, after the excitement of the first block or so. If you are looking for an eager jogging partner, Polo is ready! Polo does well in his foster home crate for short periods when he is home alone. GRFR recommends that Polo spend no more than a few hours at a time in his crate given his youthful energy. If you are Lab savvy and looking for a wonderful new family member, please apply on line today. Polo would love to meet you!
Please Visit the Golden Retreiver Freedom Rescue Website to learn more about Polo or to adopt him.
